Exploring the Bachelor of Psychology at Dar Al-Hekma University
If you have ever wondered why people think, feel, or behave the way they do, studying psychology gives you the opportunity to explore those questions in much greater depth.
The Bachelor of Psychology at Dar Al-Hekma University introduces students to the science behind human behavior while showing them how psychological knowledge can be used outside the classroom.
As you move through the program, you will study the theories that shape psychology, learn how research is carried out, and begin looking at human behavior through a more informed and thoughtful lens.
Just as importantly, the program gives you opportunities to see how psychology connects with people and communities in Saudi Arabia. Whether you hope to continue into a specialized area of psychology or take what you have learned into another profession, the degree gives you a foundation you can continue building on after graduation.
Program Mission
At Dar Al-Hekma, we want our Psychology students to graduate with more than knowledge from textbooks. We want you to understand the responsibility that comes with working with people and to approach that responsibility with empathy, sound judgment, and respect.
Throughout your studies, you will learn how psychological knowledge is used in practice and why research and evidence matter when making professional decisions. Ethics is also part of that learning from the beginning, because understanding people means recognizing the responsibility we have toward them.
Our aim is for you to leave the program prepared to contribute to psychological well-being in a way that is informed, responsible, and relevant to the communities you may eventually serve.

Program Goals
During the program, you will become familiar with the theories and ideas that have shaped psychology and learn how psychologists investigate questions about human behavior.
Research plays an important role in that process. You will learn how studies are designed, how evidence is examined, and how research can help us understand questions that do not always have simple answers.
You will also be encouraged to think carefully about how psychology applies outside the university.
Human behavior is influenced by personal circumstances as well as the environments in which people live and work, so students learn to consider psychological questions within their wider social and professional context.
Communication and technology are part of your preparation as well. You will use them throughout your academic work and research, while learning how to communicate psychological ideas clearly and responsibly.
Most importantly, the program approaches psychology within the context of Saudi society. As the profession continues to develop in the Kingdom, we want our graduates to be able to contribute to that progress while respecting professional ethics and local cultural values.
By the time you graduate, we want you to feel confident not only in what you know, but also in how you use that knowledge when working with others.
Why Choose the Bachelor of Psychology at Dar Al-Hekma University?
If you are interested in psychology but do not yet know exactly where that interest will take you, that is completely normal. University is often where those interests become clearer.
The program introduces you to different areas of psychology, giving you time to discover the subjects that genuinely capture your attention before you consider specializing further.
One of the things we value at Dar Al-Hekma is exposing students to subjects they may not encounter in every psychology program in Saudi Arabia. The curriculum includes distinctive courses that allow you to look at psychology from different perspectives and explore areas you may not have considered before joining the program.
Research is also part of your experience here. You may have opportunities to participate in ongoing psychological research and work directly with the process behind it. Instead of only reading the conclusions of other researchers, you begin to understand how questions are formed, how evidence is gathered, and how psychologists reach their findings.
Many of our faculty members also practice in the field. That experience finds its way into the classroom through discussions and examples that help students understand what psychological concepts can look like when they are applied beyond university.
We also know that students often begin their degree without having a complete picture of where it might lead. Throughout the program, you will learn more about the professional paths available to psychology graduates and have opportunities to think more seriously about what you may want to pursue next.
A psychology degree does not limit you to one professional path. What you learn about behavior and people can be useful in fields such as law, human resources, business, medicine, and many other careers where understanding how people think and respond matters.
If your interests later take you toward the legal or business side of these fields, Dar Al-Hekma also offers an LLM in Commercial Law. It allows eligible students to study commercial law in greater depth and understand the legal framework behind business activity in Saudi Arabia.
